EDMONTON - The home of Edmonton Oilers hockey, Sportsnet West, drops the puck on a 48-game broadcast schedule Monday, October 16 at 8:00 p.m. (MT)/ 9:00 p.m. (CT) when the Oilers visit Vancouver to take on the Canucks.

"No other broadcaster in Canada can boast the number of Oilers telecasts that will be seen on Sportsnet West," stated Doug Beeforth, President, Rogers Sportsnet. "We're pleased to continue our partnership with the Oilers that brings hockey that matters to Western Canadians."

"Oilers fans know that Rogers Sportsnet West is where the majority of our games can be found. We are once again very pleased with the broadcast schedule of 48 Oilers games on Rogers Sportsnet. We'll be back on the air with Sportsnet this fall and can't wait," stated Oilers, Vice President, Communications & Broadcast, Allan Watt.

The opening broadcast is one of 21 games on the Sportsnet West schedule featuring the Oilers against opponents from the Northwest Division. The Oilers will face-off against the Vancouver Canucks seven times, the Minnesota Wild eight times, the Colorado Avalanche five times and once against the Calgary Flames.

The 48-game schedule is highlighted by a total of nine all-Canadian match-ups including:

Edmonton @ Montreal Tuesday, November 7 @ 5:30 p.m. (MT)
Calgary @ Edmonton Tuesday, November 21 @ 7:00 p.m. (MT)

Two other dates to mark on the calendar are January 18th at 7:00 p.m. (MT) and March 9th at 8:00 p.m. (MT) when one of the newest Oilers, Edmonton native Joffrey Lupul takes on his former team the Anaheim Ducks.
